This course has been reduced from three days to one day. It contains the bare bones of the FAA 107 test. Only what you need to know to pass the test.
In my business of Safety inspections, I needed to become very familiar with the safe operations of Unmanned aircraft, drones. I wanted a full understanding of the safe operation, as well as, the legal requirements to properly use commercial drones in the inspection field. I did not have the luxury of a long learning curve. I had to become a licensed UAS pilot and be qualified to safely and properly handle drones in a commercial setting. Passing the FAA part 107 exam was a critical milestone to meet this objective.
I met Larry Unger at the Drone Command seminar in Lakeland Florida early this year and visiting with him I found out that he was a flight instructor interested in drones. Larry told me that he had a class on the 107 test that takes three days to complete so I saved his phone number. I am a businessman and I don't have time to waste on the Internet going through classes. The instruction was professional and relevant. I learned to read charts regarding flight and weather conditions. I learned how to communicate with the ATC when flying in a controlled airspace. I gained the confidence needed to operate a UAS in a professional manner. And, I acquired the knowledge to confidently sit and passed the required FAA part 107 exam.
I enjoyed the class. We had a good time and I am still in touch with Larry Unger. Larry shared his real life experience as a airline pilot, relating this to the actual use of owning and operating UAS. If you find yourself in my position, I recommend that you contact Larry at DroneFlight College. It will be time well spent.
